Our client was undergoing sinus surgery to repair an issue caused by an infection following a dental procedure. Prior to the surgery, her face was disinfected by an operating room scrub nurse. The nurse was supposed to tape our client’s eyes closed for protection, and use a disinfectant that is not injurious to the eye. Unfortunately, neither of these things happened. As a result, our client suffered a serious and permanent eye injury requiring several procedures to help her regain her eyesight in that eye.
